Article Icon 1Burger King Grad Gets Big Break

Mykale Baker, a Georgia teen, became an online sensation after rushing to his Burger King job just hours after graduating high school—still wearing his cap, stole, and medals.

The moment, captured on social media by customer Maria Mendoza, quickly went viral and sparked a wave of generosity.

It turns out, Baker wasn’t even scheduled to work that night. He noticed the late-night rush and jumped behind the counter to help his team.

Moved by his dedication, Mendoza launched a GoFundMe that has now topped $190,000. The Burger King Foundation also awarded him a $10,000 scholarship, recognizing his work ethic.

Baker had been considering delaying college due to financial hardship, but the outpouring of support has opened new doors.

When Aurora McCausland’s kindergartner told his teacher, “Mommy makes videos in her bedroom but only when I’m not home,” the social media influencer mom was mortified.

The innocent mix-up, later clarified as her DIY content filming, struck a nerve with parents everywhere who’ve endured their own similarly awkward moments.

The story tapped into a goldmine of parenting humor: the wild, unfiltered things kids say. Like the child who told a teacher they lived in a “crack house” (it was chipped drywall), the one who claimed mom drinks beer on the way to school (it was a Red Bull), or the kid who confidently announced Grandpa “kills people” for a living (he’s a hospice chaplain).

A reminder of the delight and chaos of raising curious little humans.

A 12-year-old tabby cat named Mirage has found a new lease on life after surviving a 380-foot fall at Bryce Canyon National Park.

During a search-and-rescue mission for a couple who had fallen from a cliff edge over a railing, crews discovered a dirt-covered pet carrier. Inside was Mirage, remarkably still alive despite the sheer drop.

She was taken in by Best Friends Animal Society in Salt Lake City, where she was treated for multiple injuries, including fractured ribs and fluid in her heart. Against the odds, Mirage made a full recovery.

Among the rescuers that day was Utah Department of Public Safety pilot Chelsea Tugaw, who never forgot the brave cat she helped recover. With the blessing of Mirage’s late owners’ family, Tugaw recently adopted the feline, pledging to give her a peaceful retirement filled with love and comfort. See a video of the kitty.
