Good Morning! On this day in 1997, iconic fashion designer Gianni Versace was shot and killed outside his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan, shocking the fashion world and igniting a nationwide manhunt.
Yesterday, we asked where you’d buy your dream vacation home—most chose mountain retreats or private beaches, ideally with no neighbors, no traffic, and spotty cell service. A few even wrote to us from theirs, proving the escape plan could actually work!
Today, we’re continuing with a somewhat personal question in the poll below: How do you perceive your financial picture? We sincerely hope you count yourself among the 52 million American EMILLIs. Details below.
Later today, we’ll email you on behalf of our partner Timeplast with the chance to invest in a breakthrough innovation: plastic that dissolves in water. Keep an eye out—this is your opportunity to get in early.
We’re sponsored today by GoldCo, offering a free beginners guide to buying gold IRAs.

9 Dead in Fire at Massachusetts Assisted Living
At least nine residents were killed and 30 others hospitalized after a five-alarm fire tore through the Gabriel House Assisted Living Residence in Fall River, Massachusetts, late Sunday night.
Firefighters arrived to find flames pouring from the main entrance and residents screaming for help from windows.
Rescue efforts were hampered by air conditioning units and mobility issues among the elderly residents.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, though officials noted the presence of oxygen tanks inside. One resident remains in critical condition.

Everyday Millionaires Now Hold $107 Trillion
The number of EMILLIs—”Everyday Millionaires” with $1 million to $5 million in assets—has jumped from 13 million in 2000 to nearly 52 million by the end of 2024, according to UBS’s 2025 Global Wealth Report.
Together, they now hold $107 trillion in assets, nearly matching the wealth of those with more than $5 million.
UBS attributes the surge to rising home values, broader access to financial markets, entrepreneurship, and an $83 trillion generational wealth transfer already in motion.
Meanwhile, a separate study found Americans now believe it takes $2.3 million to be considered wealthy—a 21% increase since 2021.
