 Drone Strikes Shut All Moscow Airports
Moscow temporarily shut down all four of its international airports this weekend in response to a sustained drone attack from Ukraine, with Russian officials saying they downed more than 230 drones.
The attack came as Ukrainian President Zelensky proposed further peace talks with Russia, and Russian President Putin spoke with Turkish officials about hosting a third round of negotiations in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov insisted Sunday that Russia would continue working to achieve its goals in Ukraine, despite threats from President Trump to increase sanctions if no ceasefire is reached within 50 days.
Russia also performed airstrikes in Ukraine over the weekend, killing at least two, as the nations exchanged major drone attacks, which experts predict will continue to escalate.

Colbert Show Ax Sparks Political Blowback
Paramount’s decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is facing blowback from the Writers Guild and some Democrats, who claim the timing suggests political interference.
The union has asked New York’s attorney general to investigate whether the move was linked to a recent $16 million settlement with President Trump, which Colbert criticized on air just days before the cancellation.
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Adam Schiff warned that the cancellation could threaten press freedom.
President Trump cheered the decision online, adding that “Jimmy Kimmel is next.”
Paramount says the choice was driven by financial pressures, citing a steep drop in late-night ad revenue, though critics point out The Late Show remained the top-rated program in its slot.

Scottie Scheffler Wins British Open
U.S. golfer Scottie Scheffler won the The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland on Sunday, securing his second major of the year and the fourth of his career, leaving only the U.S. Open to complete a career grand slam.
Going into Sunday’s final round with a four‑stroke lead, Scheffler made birdie on the first hole, then closed with a 3‑under‑68. Despite a double bogey on the eighth, he recovered to win by four shots at 17‑under par.
The victory cements Scheffler’s status as world No. 1, following his five‑stroke win at the PGA Championship and wins at the Masters in 2022 and 2024.
