House Subpoenas Clintons, DOJ in Epstein Probe

The House Oversight Committee, led by Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), has subpoenaed Bill and Hillary Clinton, former FBI directors, and six former U.S. attorneys general as part of its investigation into the federal handling of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The bipartisan-backed effort also demands full, unredacted Epstein records from the Justice Department by Aug. 19.

Depositions are scheduled to begin Aug. 18 and run through mid-October. Hillary Clinton has been asked to appear on Oct. 9, while Bill Clinton is set for Oct. 14.

Comer says the inquiry could aid in reforms to federal sex trafficking laws and the use of plea deals in such cases. Maxwell’s deposition is delayed pending a Supreme Court appeal.

US Races to Put Nuclear Reactor on Moon

NASA is fast-tracking plans to place a nuclear reactor on the Moon by 2030, aiming to power future lunar bases and outpace rival efforts by China and Russia.

Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy issued a directive calling for the deployment of fission surface power systems, citing national security and the risk that other nations could establish territorial “keep-out zones.”

The proposed reactor would generate at least 100 kilowatts—enough to sustain operations during the Moon’s two-week-long nights, when solar power fails.

How US Jobs Have Changed Since 2002

A new data visualization shows how the jobs held by Americans have shifted over the past two decades.

Office and administrative roles dropped from 18% of the workforce in 2002 to just 12% in 2024, as automation replaced clerical tasks.

Meanwhile, food service rose from 8% to 9%, transport and logistics climbed from 7% to 9%, and healthcare support jumped from 2% to 5%—all driven by rising demand for hands-on, in-person work.
