Army Football Safety Pulls Man from Burning Car

Army football player Larry Pickett Jr. and his father pulled a man from a crashed vehicle just before it exploded in flames early Sunday in Fort Montgomery, New York.

The 20-year-old West Point cadet was heading home with his family when they came across a car crash surrounded by sparking power lines.

Without hesitation, Larry and his dad sprinted to the burning vehicle and pulled the man from the driver’s seat just moments before it was fully engulfed. Watch a video here.

Couple Mistaken for Grill Helpline Honored

A Canadian couple turned a wrong number into months of free customer service—and earned a new grill for their efforts.

Jim Klassen and Mirjana Komljenovic spent the winter fielding calls from across North America after their number was mistakenly listed as Napoleon’s support line.

Instead of ignoring the calls, the couple embraced the mix-up by answering questions, giving grilling advice, and even chatting about life.

Deaf Cat Becomes Beachside Celebrity

Mittens, a deaf white cat in a yellow hat, has become a local celebrity at Vancouver’s English Bay Beach, calmly greeting crowds from her favorite stump. See the photos here.

Deaf since birth and unfazed by noise, Mittens was rescued from a dumpster during the pandemic and now draws fans by the dozens, with some even tracking her movements on local Facebook groups.

Her owner, Mark Nemethy, hopes to take Mittens’ feel-good presence beyond the beach—possibly to hospitals or community spaces where her calm charm can continue spreading joy. Watch a video of Mittens.
