Good Morning! On this day in 1941, Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams went 6-for-8 in a season-ending doubleheader, raising his batting average to .406 and becoming the last Major League Baseball player to hit .400.
Speaking of the Red Sox, the Boston sluggers clinched a playoff spot on Friday night when Ceddanne Rafaela hit a dramatic walk-off triple to beat the Tigers.
We don’t often stop mid-workday to compare grooming routines, but Particle Face Cream has made the rounds among the guys at The Flyover. A few of our team members have been using it, and the feedback has been consistent: skin feels softer, smoother, fine lines look less noticeable, and eye bags are reduced. It’s rare we see a product work this well, which is why we’re excited to share it with you.

ICE Arrests Iowa School Superintendent
Federal agents arrested the superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools in Iowa on Friday after they discovered he was in the country illegally with a deportation order—and in possession of a loaded handgun, $3,000 in cash, and a hunting knife.
Ian Andre Roberts, originally from Guyana, has a previous weapons possession charge from February 2020. An immigration judge issued a “final order of removal” for Roberts in May 2024.
“How this illegal alien was hired without work authorization, a final order of removal, and a prior weapons charge is beyond comprehension and should alarm the parents of that school district,” said Sam Olson, the director of the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations St. Paul Field Office.
Roberts entered the U.S. on a student visa in 1999. Since 2023, he has served as superintendent of Iowa’s largest school district and previously was a principal and school turnaround leader in Washington, DC, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

FBI Fires Kneeling Agents from BLM Protests
The FBI has fired roughly 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during the Black Lives Matter protests in Washington, D.C., in 2020, according to two unnamed sources.
Many of the agents had already been demoted or put on administrative leave. One source said that the termination letter to the agents cited an alleged “lack of judgement” in their actions.
The FBI Agents Association condemned the terminations in a statement, saying the agents’ “constitutional and legal rights” had been violated.
Five agents and top-level executives were fired in August, including an agent who helped oversee the investigations into the Jan. 6, 2021, incursion at the U.S. Capitol and another who resisted Justice Department demands to supply the names of agents who investigated the incursion.

Would-Be Ford Assassin Dies at 95
Sara Jane Moore, who made an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975, died Wednesday at 95.
Moore fired two shots at Ford outside the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, missing the President by inches with the first shot from a .38 caliber pistol. She was tackled by Marine Oliver Sipple during the second shot.
After her arrest, Moore revealed she was previously an FBI informant, which the agency confirmed.
She was released on parole in 2007, later saying she had been caught up in the radical political movements that were common in California in the mid-1970s. In a 2009 interview, she said, “I’m very sorry that it happened. … I’m very happy that I did not succeed.”

Whatever happened to Kramer (Michael Richards)?
Comedian Michael Richards won national fame as Kramer, Jerry Seinfeld’s neighbor on the hit comedy series Seinfeld, and seemed poised for a successful post-series career—but that’s not how it turned out.
Instead, during a stand-up set at Los Angeles’ Laugh Factory in 2006, Richards hurled repeated racial insults at black audience members. Video of the incident went viral, and his career cratered.
After that, Richards made a few TV appearances but went into years of self-exile, as he describes it, saying he “canceled” himself and spent time working on anger and accountability.
In 2024, he released a memoir, Entrances and Exits, and this year, he has launched a series of live Q&A events in California, the closest he’s come to a comeback.
Here’s an interview where he discusses his current situation.
