Good Morning! On this day in 1992, 18-year-old Michelle Knapp of Peekskill, New York, heard a crash outside and discovered a hole in her Chevy Malibu and driveway—caused by a bowling ball–sized meteorite. See the car and meteorite here.
An Australian woman just crushed a nearly decade-old Guinness World Record by completing 733 pull-ups in an hour, which makes us think it’s finally time to install that pull-up bar at The Flyover office. We’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
Mistake Tracking: Yesterday’s history item used the term “Congressional Medal of Honor,” which is in common usage but is technically incorrect. The official name of the nation’s most prestigious military decoration is simply the Medal of Honor, and that’s the name we will use in the future.

Trump Announces Gaza Agreement
President Trump announced Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had reached the first phase of a ceasefire deal, paving the way for the release of 20 living hostages and a pause in fighting in the Gaza Strip.
The deal calls for Israel to partially withdraw from Gaza and for Hamas to begin releasing hostages, according to Trump.
The president described the agreement on Truth Social “as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement minutes later. “With God’s help, we will bring them all home,” he said, referring to the remaining living captives. Hamas also holds the bodies of 28 dead hostages.

Nor’easter to Bring Coastal Flood Threat
A major nor’easter is forecast to develop off the East Coast this weekend, likely lasting through Monday at least and bringing the threat of strong winds, heavy rain, and coastal flooding from the Carolinas to Southern New England.
The highest risk for strong winds and subsequent power outages is forecast from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Long Island. While the heaviest rainfall is currently predicted from the eastern Carolinas to southern New Jersey, the overall track of the low-pressure center remains tricky.
Although the storm is not tropical in origin, there is a low chance it could linger over the warm Gulf Stream waters and morph into a named subtropical storm, which would be called Karen.

Man Charged In Deadly Palisades Fire
Federal authorities on Wednesday charged Jonathan Rinderknecht, a 29-year-old Uber driver living in Florida, with maliciously setting the Palisades Fire nine months after the blaze caused 12 deaths and an estimated $150 billion in damages in Los Angeles.
Rinderknecht allegedly set a brush fire on Jan. 1, 2025, near a popular hiking trail, which then smoldered for days before igniting the larger, devastating inferno that destroyed more than 6,000 homes.
Evidence against the suspect includes his searching ChatGPT about cigarette-sparked fires, as well as his phone containing videos of the fire and a prior AI-generated image of a dystopian burning city.
Rinderknecht, who was arrested in Florida, had no prior criminal history and is being transferred to California to face charges of malicious destruction by means of fire.

The Next Gold Rush
The demand for lithium is fueling a modern-day gold rush. Lithium is essential for batteries in electric cars, storing renewable energy, and powering humanoid robots and AI data center backup batteries.
As a result, lithium demand is projected to be 18X current production by 2040, creating a massive opportunity for investors. Elon Musk didn’t hold back when talking about the potential here: “Do you like minting money? Well, the lithium business is for you.”
Enter EnergyX. Their patented LiTAS® technology can extract up to 300% more lithium than traditional methods. They’ve already secured a partnership and strategic investment from General Motors and raised $140 million, including earning a $5M Department of Energy grant.
Now you can invest in EnergyX on the ground floor, just as they’re set to unlock the US’s lithium supply.
Just know that time is of the essence. Invest in EnergyX at $10/share before Oct. 30.
