11 in Injured UK Mass Train Stabbing
A knife-wielding man attacked passengers aboard a London-bound train near Huntingdon, England, on Saturday night, injuring 11 people, including two critically.
The 32-year-old British suspect was arrested for attempted murder after armed officers boarded the train. A rail staffer who intervened remains in life-threatening condition; police said his actions “undoubtedly saved people’s lives.”
Witnesses described a “horrendous” scene as the attacker moved from car to car, slashing randomly. One survivor said the suspect told her, “the devil’s not going to win,” before sparing her life.
British officials are urging calm as the country reels from the rare mass stabbing.

Bessent: SNAP Could Restart Wednesday
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits could restart as early as Wednesday, according to a Sunday statement from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Amid the government shutdown, SNAP benefits have not been paid out for November to the roughly 40 million Americans who use them to help pay for groceries.
Bessent’s statement comes after two federal judges ruled on Friday that the Trump administration must address the SNAP stoppage “as soon as possible.”
Bessent said the administration is complying with the orders and working to understand how to legally fund the $9.2 billion needed for November SNAP payments, while also appealing to Democratic lawmakers to reopen the government.

The survey revealed several unique meanings and origins, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s most common surname, Ilunga, a praise-name meaning a person who forgives the first two abuses but never the third.
In Finland, the most common name is Korhonen, which translates to “old hard-of-hearing person.” See the last name map here.
