Good morning! On this day in 1968, NASA’s Apollo 8 mission splashed down in the Pacific, completing the first crewed mission to orbit the Moon.
Two women recreated The Holiday by swapping homes between Brooklyn and London after a single social media post, as we report below, turning a movie fantasy into a real-life transatlantic adventure that drew millions of viewers along for the ride.
Today’s sponsor is LMNT. Winter hydration matters more than most people realize, especially in cold air, at high altitudes, and during long days outside. Whether you are skiing, traveling, or just staying active in colder weather, LMNT helps you stay properly hydrated without sugar or unnecessary additives.

US Strikes ISIS in Nigeria
U.S. Africa Command confirmed Thursday that U.S. forces struck multiple ISIS camps in northwest Nigeria after militants allegedly targeted and brutally killed primarily Christian civilians.
The strikes followed President Trump’s warning that “there would be hell to pay” if killings of Christians continued. Officials provided no details on casualties, targets, or the number of strikes.
Nigerian officials said they are working with U.S. partners to fight terrorism and protect lives, acknowledging Islamist violence and kidnappings in the north while denying systematic persecution of Christians.
Nigeria’s population is nearly evenly split between Muslims in the north and Christians in the south, where a humanitarian group says more than 7,000 Christians were killed this year.

Biggest Car Trends for 2026 Take Shape
Automakers are lining up an unusually crowded 2026 model year, with nearly 160 new or redesigned vehicles expected globally, and many aimed squarely at U.S. buyers.
The common thread across upcoming launches is flexibility—more hybrids, refreshed gas models, and carefully targeted EVs—rather than an all-in electric push.
On the business side, the U.S. car market is finally stabilizing after years of turmoil, with inventories improving and prices cooling slightly, although affordability remains the biggest hurdle for buyers.
Bottom line for 2026: more choices on dealer lots, fewer moonshots, and a sharper focus on what American drivers are actually willing—and able—to buy.

Life Imitates Rom-Com
Two women recreated the 2006 film The Holiday by swapping homes across the Atlantic, and millions watched it unfold on TikTok. In the Nancy Meyers movie, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet trade homes between Los Angeles and the English countryside, finding romance and new perspectives.
Brooklynite Lohanny Santos posted a simple question in August asking if anyone in London wanted to trade apartments for two weeks, even using the film’s iconic theme music in her video.
Marie Draxler from Notting Hill answered, and after just two FaceTime calls, they booked flights and swapped keys. The women left out jewelry, beauty products, and personal touches that made it feel like staying with a friend rather than a stranger, and their parallel adventures drew tens of thousands of followers who cheered them on daily.
The swap has since sparked a movement, with women across the globe now pitching their own home exchanges from Seattle to Vienna.

The Biggest Question of 2025… And 4 days left to Answer It
Just a few months ago, we set out on a mission: to invite a small, exclusive group of The Flyover readers to become The Flyover owners. Next month, this opportunity will close—and I hope you’ll consider joining us before it closes for good.
But here’s the deal: we only have four days left in 2025, and I’m asking you to consider investing before year’s end.
Four days from now, the year ends. Next month, this investment round closes. And once it’s closed, this opportunity is gone.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, this is the moment to step in and help us finish 2025 strong—and position yourself alongside a media company that’s growing while legacy media continues to shrink.
👉Invest in The Flyover today
You Have Questions. We Have Answers.
One of the most common—and important—questions we receive is simple and fair:
How do I get a return on my investment?
We believe in being direct. All investments carry risk—but here’s what makes The Flyover different:
We became profitable after just two years, with strong margins and disciplined growth, placing us among the top tier of media startups in the country.
There are three primary ways The Flyover investors could ultimately see returns:
1. A Sale A larger media company or strategic partner could acquire The Flyover. If that day comes, we’ll only partner with organizations that respect our mission and our readers.
2. A Public Listing While we’re private today, a future public listing could allow investors to buy and sell shares freely.
3. Profit Distributions (Dividends) Unlike most startups, we’re already generating profit. That makes future distributions a real possibility as the business continues to scale.
To recap: 1. Sale. 2. Listing. 3. Distributions.
The Final Push of 2025
We’re in a 4-day sprint to close out the year, with our funding round scheduled to close next month. Shares are limited, and once this round is filled, no additional investments will be accepted.
If you’ve been considering investing—whether to support the mission of fact-based journalism, to own a piece of a growing media company, or to position yourself for potential returns—this is your moment.
Will you help us finish 2025 strong?
Join us as an owner before the year—and this round—comes to a close.
👉 Invest in The Flyover today
P.S. A 15% bonus share opportunity is still available during this end-of-year sprint—and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Here’s how a Rockette spends Christmas in New York: long days of rehearsals and multiple shows at Radio City Music Hall, followed by quick escapes for hot cocoa at Rockefeller Center, ice skating in Central Park, and quiet walks past over-the-top holiday decorations when the curtain comes down. (See Photos)
These five poems helped shape the modern Christmas by capturing 19th-century ideas of joy, sorrow, faith, and love in verses that continue to influence how the season is imagined, read, and celebrated today. (Read Poems)
Christmas tradition says your tree should stay up through Epiphany on Jan. 6, marking the full Twelve Days of Christmas, though some families take it down by New Year’s Eve for luck or practicality. (See Details)
