Bayer Offers $7.25B Roundup Settlement
Bayer has proposed a $7.25 billion class-action settlement to resolve tens of thousands of lawsuits alleging its Roundup weedkiller, containing the controversial herbicide glyphosate, caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The deal, filed in St. Louis Circuit Court, would pay out claims over 21 years to people exposed to Roundup before this week who have been or will be diagnosed with that cancer.
Bayer has faced a flood of litigation since acquiring Monsanto in 2018 for $63 billion and has already paid more than $10 billion in prior verdicts and settlements. The German company still faces roughly 67,000 remaining claims.
The company, which has lobbied for a law protecting it from liability, maintains that Roundup is safe and admits no wrongdoing. The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments on the issue in April.

Air Force One Getting a New Look
The U.S. Air Force confirmed it will repaint the Air Force One presidential aircraft in President Trump’s preferred red, white, dark blue, and gold color scheme, replacing the light blue and white design that has been in place since the Kennedy administration.
The new look will appear on the Qatari-donated 747, the two Boeing VC-25B jets being built as the next-generation Air Force One, and four C-32 aircraft used by the vice president, the first lady, and Cabinet members.
The first C-32 has already been repainted and is expected to be delivered in the coming months. See images here.
Trump initially proposed the redesign during his first term, but the Biden administration reversed it, citing concerns that darker colors could cause overheating on certain components.

Shiffrin Wins Gold After 8-Year Drought
Mikaela Shiffrin dominated the women’s slalom at the Milan Cortina Olympics on Wednesday, finishing 1.5 seconds ahead of the field, the largest margin in an Olympic women’s slalom since 1998.
It’s her third career Olympic gold, making her the only American alpine skier in history to hold three. The 30-year-old hadn’t won an Olympic medal since 2018 and went 0-for-6 in Beijing four years ago, a stretch she later called her lowest point in the sport.
In Italy, a fourth-place finish in the combined and an 11th in giant slalom left her staring down her final event without a medal. Then she posted the fastest first run by nearly a full second and never looked back.
