Article Icon 1Kentucky Family Brings Calf Indoors

A Kentucky family brought a newborn calf inside their Mount Sterling home during a weekend deep freeze, where it cuddled on the couch with their two young children after struggling in single-digit temperatures.

Macey Sorrell said the calf was “just frozen” when her husband found it Saturday morning, with its umbilical cord resembling a popsicle. After losing a calf to frostbite last winter, the family moved quickly to warm the newborn with a blow dryer and clean off the ice and afterbirth.

The couple’s 3-year-old son Gregory named the calf Sally after his favorite movie character and snuggled beside her on the couch. The heartwarming photos show the children cuddling with the fluffy calf on their furniture.

The family reunited Sally with her mother the next morning, and both are doing well on the farm where the Sorrells keep about three dozen cows.

Two teenage boys rescued five unprepared adults and a small dog stranded on England’s third-highest mountain after finding them wearing jeans and sneakers with no climbing equipment on the snowy ridge.

Rowan Kay, 15, and Caelan Blades, 16, were ice climbing down Helvellyn mountain on Jan. 10 when they spotted the struggling group frozen on Striding Edge. One woman was slipping around “like she was on a treadmill” without gloves or crampons while carrying her dog, with another having a panic attack from the conditions.

The teens spent 30 minutes helping the group down in a zigzag pattern, guiding them step by step to safety.

The Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team later praised the boys’ “strong mountain skills” and maturity, calling them potential future mountain rescuers. See the photos of the teens here.

A Pennsylvania woman discovered her childhood pen pal from the 1990s was the OB-GYN who delivered her two children after finding old letters at her parents’ home over Thanksgiving.

Megan Lewis, 38, said her “mouth dropped” when she googled the name from letters written between 1994 and 1995 and saw Dr. Suzanne Pugh’s photo appear online. Lewis had been seeing Pugh since 2018, when the doctor supported her through difficult pregnancies with daughter Caroline and son Jack.

The two women had no memory of their elementary school connection when Lewis was a second grader and Pugh an 11th grader.

They bonded over gymnastics in their letters and even met once at a school visit neither recalls, reuniting 30 years later through “an incredible connection.” Watch a video report.

Contracts That Last A Lifetime (And Beyond)

Some timeshare contracts are written to last forever, with no natural end date. That means owners could be responsible for rising fees for life, and in some cases, the burden can even be passed down to their children. Instead of offering flexibility, these contracts trap families in obligations they never expected. What once seemed like a vacation plan quickly turns into a generational financial strain.

With years of proven legal expertise, Stonegate has become a trusted leader in timeshare exits.

Curious if your contract could be canceled for good? Take our quick quiz and get answers in minutes!
