Today is our first-ever Feel Good Friday down in The Rotator section, and to make sure we nailed it on the first try, we included the only thing absolutely guaranteed to make you feel good — puppies. Golden Retriver pups are perfect, and we hope your Labor Day weekend is too!

Trump’s Georgia Case to be Streamed on YouTube
Donald Trump’s court proceedings in the Georgia election case will be televised and live-streamed, the judge said Thursday, following precedent in the Fulton County court system. No trial date has been set yet.
The hearings and trials for all the Georgia defendants will be telecast on the Fulton County YouTube channel, and there’ll be pool coverage for all press. Trump’s other cases are in federal court, which don’t allow cameras.
Separately, Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges against him in the case and said he’d waive arraignment, allowing him to skip next week’s hearing. He also asked to separate his case from the other defendants, who are seeking a speedy trial. | Feds Recommend Easing Pot Restrictions
The Dept. of Health and Human Services has recommended to the Drug Enforcement Administration that federal restrictions be eased on marijuana. The DEA says it’s now doing its own review.
The news sparked a jump in the value of cannabis company stocks. Three of the top 10 biggest percentage gains in Thursday’s stock market were companies in the legal marijuana business.
The federal government currently lists marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug, along with LSD and heroin. The HHS has recommended that cannabis become a Schedule 3 drug, similar to performance-enhancing steroids. | Dollar General Cuts Prices to End the Mess
Dollar General is marking down prices on millions of items to sell off excess inventory while employing special teams to clean up its messy, overstocked stores.
The company’s stock fell 12% following Thursday’s poor quarterly earnings report. Executives said part of the problem was $100 million lost to retail theft, echoing other major retailers this year.
The chain said it would take a $95 million markdown in 2023 to pay for the need to literally clear its stores of merchandise blocking the aisles, mainly home decor and toys.
