Good Morning! On this day in 1791, the U.S. Bill of Rights was ratified, becoming law and adding the first ten amendments to the Constitution. These amendments guaranteed fundamental freedoms, including freedom of speech, religion, the press, and due process.
Today’s news includes a heartbreaking tragedy out of Australia, where a mass shooting at Bondi Beach on the first night of Hanukkah left at least 15 people dead. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the Jewish community as we report the details below.
Tune into today’s Flyover Podcast, where host Ayla Brown shares simple ways you can spread joy in your community through donations during a busy holiday season. Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way in making someone’s holidays brighter. Watch the episode here.

15 Killed in Bondi Beach Hanukkah Shooting
Two gunmen opened fire on a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday, killing at least 15 people, including a 10-year-old girl, and wounding 42 others in what authorities are treating as a terror attack.
The suspects, believed to be father and son aged 50 and 24, began firing on the crowd with rifles from a footbridge during the Hanukkah by the Sea event. Together, men legally owned six firearms despite Australia’s strict gun laws.
Beachgoers fled the scene as the attack continued for 20 minutes, with the gunmen reloading and firing multiple times. The massacre was disrupted by Muslim fruit stand owner Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, who snuck up behind, tackled, and disarmed one gunman, despite suffering two gunshot wounds in the process. Watch the video of the moment here.
The elder gunman was shot and killed by police, who later searched the suspects’ vehicle and home, discovering homemade explosives. The other gunman was hospitalized in critical condition. Follow live updates here.

Brown University Shooting Suspect Arrested
Police detained a person of interest early Sunday at a Coventry, Rhode Island, hotel, approximately 28 miles from where Saturday’s deadly Brown University shooting left two dead and nine injured during an economics final exam review.
The man in his mid-20s from Wisconsin, not a Brown student, was allegedly carrying two firearms when apprehended around 3:45 a.m., including a weapon with unique characteristics that helped tie him to the attack.
The man allegedly yelled something before firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, though witnesses couldn’t make out what was screamed.
Brown has canceled all remaining classes, exams, and projects for the fall semester, with officials stating that the investigation is “progressing extremely fast,” although no charges have been filed yet.
