Two Ohio women who discovered a newborn baby in a shopping cart in a Cleveland-area parking lot in 1972 have finally reunited with her more than five decades later.

The infant, left in a paper bag and only hours old, was discovered by two friends leaving a movie theater at Westgate Shopping Center. They called the police and stayed with the baby until she was taken to Fairview Hospital and later adopted by a Cleveland family, where she went on to have a happy childhood.

The baby, dubbed Baby Westgate after the shopping center where she was found, grew up to become Pearl Marshall, who began searching for her origins after Ohio opened previously sealed adoption records.

With help from a local historical researcher who tracked down old news reports, Pearl was able to locate the two women who found her, leading to an emotional reunion more than 50 years after the night that changed all their lives. Watch a video report.

Colombian golfer Nico Echavarria says a long-promised dog is finally on the way after his latest PGA Tour victory. Nico shot 17-under to win the Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, last week, finishing two strokes ahead of Taylor Moore and Shane Lowry.

The win is his third PGA Tour title and earns him $1.728 million along with another invite to the Masters. It also fulfills a promise to his wife, Claudia.

The promise is we’re getting a dog because a dog is expensive, so we need a third win for a dog, that’s how it works,” Nico joked, saying the couple plans to bring home a Bernedoodle.  Watch a video here.

Article Icon 1Thrift Store Camera Reveals 1950s Ski Trip

A man browsing a thrift shop in England paid $13 for a 1930s Zeiss Ikon camera, only to discover a roll of undeveloped film still tucked inside.

The fragile 127 film was carefully developed, revealing well-preserved images from what appears to be a late-1950s ski trip in St. Moritz, Switzerland. See the photos here.

The black-and-white photos show skiers posing on the slopes and outside landmarks such as Badrutt’s Palace Hotel.

Despite media attention and social media buzz, no one has identified the people in the pictures. The shop is still hoping someone recognizes a familiar face from a long-ago winter getaway.

“The exposed film has been inside that camera waiting for someone to unearth it for maybe 60 or 70 years—it’s so incredible that history was literally sitting there on a charity shop shelf.”
