Biden Diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer
Former President Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office confirmed Sunday.
The cancer was discovered after he reported worsening urinary symptoms, prompting further evaluation that revealed a high-grade tumor (Gleason score 9).
While the disease is considered serious due to its metastasis, it is hormone-sensitive, allowing for potentially effective treatment options. Biden and his family are currently reviewing those options with his medical team.
President Trump expressed condolences and wished Biden “a fast and successful recovery” in a Truth Social post.
Mexican Ship Hits Brooklyn Bridge
A tall Mexican Navy ship on a goodwill tour crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge in New York Saturday night after losing power and sailing the wrong way, killing two crew members and injuring 22.
The Cuauhtémoc, carrying 277 aboard, mostly cadets, was supposed to head south toward Iceland but drifted north instead, its 147-foot masts colliding with the bridge’s 135-foot clearance around 8:20 p.m.
Terrifying footage shows sailors dangling from rigging as the masts sheared off. See the video here.
The Coast Guard says all three masts were destroyed, and the vessel remains moored at Pier 36 under a 50-yard safety zone as salvage plans develop. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
