Good Morning! On this day in 1927, Henry Ford and his son Edsel drove the 15 millionth Model T out of their factory, marking the iconic automobile’s official final day of production.
We hope you’re having a restful Memorial Day as we reflect on those who served. One of the most powerful tributes this weekend is unfolding on the National Mall, where USAA’s 134-foot Poppy Wall of Honor returns to commemorate more than 600,000 fallen service members.
Today’s and tomorrow’s editions are shorter so our team can spend time with loved ones. Thanks for reading—full coverage returns Wednesday!

Memorial Day Severe Weather Possible
The Memorial Day weather is likely to be split today, with cool, pleasant temperatures in the Midwest and Northeast and rain and possible severe weather in Southern states.
Areas surrounding cities like Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Memphis, and Fort Worth are at the highest risk of severe weather today, with possible flooding, severe storms, and tornadoes.
Today will cap off a weekend of festivities across the country, with the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C., being the largest event on the docket.
Forecasts are calling for an overcast parade in D.C., which will include appearances from Kiss rock star Gene Simmons and four Medal of Honor recipients as the Grand Marshals.

Military Spends Big to Rebuild Ranks
The U.S. military has poured over $6 billion into recruiting and retention over the last three years, scrambling to reverse enlistment declines worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Navy, despite being smaller than the Army, led spending efforts, offering hefty bonuses to both officers and enlisted sailors, with some incentives topping $150,000.
The Army’s biggest comeback move was the launch of the Future Soldier Prep Course in 2022. This course helps borderline candidates meet fitness and academic standards. It now boasts a 95% graduation rate and has sent nearly 25,000 recruits to basic training.
Meanwhile, across all branches, pandemic-era setbacks, like school closures and rising youth disqualification rates, continue to shape a more expensive, more aggressive fight for manpower.

No Child Forgotten. No Heart Left Unreached.
Right now, you have a limited-time opportunity to help reach children with the Gospel in the hardest-to-reach places, where poverty, persecution, and isolation often keep them from ever hearing the Good News.
Through the No Child Forgotten Matching Challenge, your donation’s impact is DOUBLED—up to $500,000—to help reach 3 million children with God’s Word in places like majority-Muslim and Buddhist regions, as well as children like Ivana, an Indigenous child in Peru.
When she saw the Lumo Project Films The Son of Man, she said:
“I learned Jesus came to save us because He loves us … I have decided to give Him my life.”
Now, Ivana is sharing God’s Word in her community!
But millions more children are still waiting. In remote villages. In dangerous regions. In spiritual darkness.
Will you help ensure no child is forgotten?
Give before the deadline and double your impact. The match ends May 31
