Good Morning! On this day in 1821, Central American nations (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua) declared independence from Spain.
Today, we’re spotlighting a cozy roundup of pumpkin recipes families can’t get enough of. What flavor or dish instantly makes you think of fall? Hit reply and share your favorite with us!
Editor’s Note: Our Sunday coverage of the Unite the Kingdom march in London, organized by conservative activist Tommy Robinson, initially cited a turnout of about 110,000, as reported by multiple outlets. The BBC is now estimating as many as 150,000.
Several of our readers have since pointed out that aerial and street-level footage appears to show a crowd even larger than those figures. We weren’t on the ground and can’t independently confirm a precise number, but you can review the footage yourself here.
Imagine owning a piece of the $1.3T vacation home market. Today’s sponsor, Pacaso—backed by top investors and created by a former Zillow executive—is opening the door for everyday investors to buy in. Even our own Flyover founder has invested. But time is short—this opportunity closes soon.

Utah Gov. Reveals Details on Kirk Assassin
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox revealed new details Sunday about Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, particularly noting that Robinson’s roommate, who is transgender (a male who identifies as female), has become a person of interest and was Robinson’s “romantic partner.”
Robinson contacted his roommate after the shooting with details on the whereabouts of the hidden murder weapon. Gov. Cox said the roommate is “incredibly cooperative” with investigators and was “aghast” at the shooting.
Cox also said that Robinson was active in the “deep, dark internet […] culture” and posted in at least one group after the shooting. One radical left group in Utah, in which Robinson may have participated, deleted its social media profile in the wake of the shooting.
Meanwhile, Turning Point USA, co-founded by Kirk, announced that his memorial has been set for Sunday, Sept. 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The stadium has a capacity of 63,400. Turning Point USA invited people to come celebrate the life of an American legend.

Russian Drone Breaches Romanian Airspace
Romania, a NATO member, reported Russian drones entering its airspace on Saturday, less than a week after Poland announced the same violation.
The Romanian defense ministry said a Russian drone was detected while fighter jets monitored a Russian attack on Ukraine near Romania’s northern border. The ministry added that the drone didn’t fly over a populated area and didn’t pose an imminent threat.
As NATO allies call for sanctions against Russia for the airspace breaches, President Trump said he was “ready” to do so if member nations stop buying Russian oil. Meanwhile, Romanian allies, including Poland, are shoring up defenses in response to Russian actions.
Ukrainian President Zelensky called the situation “an obvious expansion of the war by Russia.” Russian officials have yet to respond to the Romanian report.

Map: Christmas Costs by State Income
A new study shows how early the average household in each state would need to start saving for a typical Christmas, and in many cases, it’s over a year in advance.
The analysis defined a “typical Christmas” as $902 in holiday spending per person, covering gifts, food, travel, and festivities.
Based on median income and expenses, only a few high-income states like California and Virginia could save that much in four months.
Households in places like Indiana, Alabama, and Kentucky would need multiple years, or may never have enough disposable income to cover the cost.
Experts warn that last-minute spending often leads to high-interest debt that lingers well past December. The data for your state can be found here.
