Good morning! On this day in 1804, Vice President Aaron Burr fatally shot longtime political foe Alexander Hamilton in a duel in Weehawken, New Jersey, the same site where Hamilton’s son died in a duel three years earlier defending his father’s honor.
As many of you know, every Friday we publish the Feel Good Flyover, a weekly newsletter focusing on the good things that happen in the world every week (you should check it out!) But we like to include the occasional feel-good story here as well, and today we have an item in our Et Cetera section about a man who realized he held a winning $50,000 lottery ticket and gave it to his mom for her birthday. That’s a nice son!
Slowing how fast you age sounds like it should take a punishing diet or a shelf of supplements. New research out of Japan says otherwise. Scientists found that one small daily habit, paired with another, slowed the body’s biological aging about as much as cutting your calorie intake by a quarter. In today’s Flyover Podcast, Amy shares exactly what the study found, why it surprised the researchers, and what those two simple habits are. Tune in here to learn more.
Have you ever looked at a food label and assumed it was healthy? You’re not alone. Nutrition advice seems to change every year, making it harder to know what’s actually helping your health. That’s why today’s sponsor, Dr. Steven Gundry, put together a quick quiz that challenges some of the biggest assumptions about everyday “healthy” snacks. See if you can guess the right answer below.

US Continues Iran Talks Despite Ceasefire’s End
The U.S. and Iran have agreed to continue negotiations, President Trump said Friday, while declaring the mid-June ceasefire formally over.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote that Iran requested that talks resume, but that the U.S. has made clear that the memorandum of understanding that paused hostilities is no longer in effect.
The announcement follows the most intense military exchange since the ceasefire began. The U.S. struck more than 170 Iranian coastal targets over two nights this week after Iran attacked three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, which carries roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply.
Regional mediators, including Qatar and Pakistan, are working to bring both sides back to formal negotiations, though no date or venue has been confirmed.

Housing Act Set to Become Law Without Trump’s Signature
President Trump said Friday he won’t sign a major bipartisan housing reform act, the most sweeping federal housing legislation in decades. But if he doesn’t actually veto the bill, it will become law today anyway.
Trump framed his refusal to sign as a protest against the Senate’s failure to pass the SAVE America Act, a strict voter ID bill that so far has lacked the votes to clear the chamber. He previously canceled a White House signing ceremony on the same grounds and has dismissed the housing bill as “a yawn.”
The housing legislation passed Congress with overwhelming bipartisan margin—85-5 in the Senate and 358-32 in the House—and aims to lower housing costs by streamlining environmental reviews, curbing corporate purchases of single-family homes, and expanding access to modular housing.

Ranked: America’s Biggest Industries
Finance, including real estate, insurance, rental, and leasing, is America’s largest industry, generating $6.8 trillion in output in 2025, or 21.8% of the nation’s $31.4 trillion GDP, according to a ranking of the nation’s biggest industries.
Professional and business services ranked second at $4.1 trillion, according to Bureau of Economic Analysis data, meaning the top two sectors alone produced nearly 35% of all U.S. economic output.
Manufacturing was the largest goods-producing industry at $3 trillion, ahead of construction ($1.3 trillion), while agriculture and mining combined for just 2%. Government at all levels added $3.5 trillion. See the full ranking here.
