Truce in Lebanon as Talks Stall
A U.S.-backed ceasefire took effect between Israel and Hezbollah on Friday afternoon, hours after Israeli forces struck more than 80 targets in southern Lebanon, where four Israeli soldiers and at least 18 civilians were killed.
Each side accused the other of violating the truce within hours. The fighting had already derailed the wider U.S.-Iran framework signed midweek: next-phase nuclear talks were postponed, and the vice president scrapped a trip to Switzerland.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard separately declared the Strait of Hormuz closed again, though Washington said tanker traffic through the waterway was surging.

White House Bids Old Jet Farewell
White House staff bid farewell to the 35-year-old Boeing 747 that has flown as Air Force One since 1990, posting tributes and calling its return trip from Europe this week “The Last Ride.”
The Air Force pushed back, saying the aging jet is not being retired and will keep serving alongside a Qatari-donated 747 set to take over as a temporary Air Force One as soon as next month.
The president is weighing whether to take that plane’s first flight to Mount Rushmore on July 3.
The outgoing jet has carried six presidents, beginning with George H.W. Bush. The three incoming jets will wear Trump’s preferred red, white, gold, and navy scheme.

TSA to World Cup Fans: Check the Ranch
American ranch dressing has become a breakout star of the World Cup, and now the TSA is weighing in on the ranch craze.
After videos of international fans discovering the condiment went viral, the agency reminded travelers that bottles over 3.4 ounces belong in checked bags, not carry-ons.
The TSA leaned into the fun, calling ranch the “king of condiments” and pleading with fans not to chug it at security.
Kraft jumped in too, announcing a travel-friendly “TSA Compliant Ranch” kit of single-use packets in an approved quart-sized bag, coming soon.
