Good morning! On this day in 1957, the U.S. detonated a 1.7-kiloton nuclear weapon, known as Rainier, in an underground tunnel at the Nevada Test Site, located 65 miles north of Las Vegas. This test was the first fully contained underground detonation and produced no radioactive fallout.

 U.S. Wins Greenland Security Deal
President Trump on Friday announced a sweeping security agreement with Denmark and Greenland granting the U.S. permanent military basing and overflight rights in Greenland.
The deal bars China, Russia, and other non-NATO countries from establishing military bases or making sensitive investments in Greenland without express U.S. approval. Trump called it an “Infinite Life” agreement with no expiration date.
The arrangement falls short of the full acquisition Trump had pushed for since his first term, but it significantly expands the U.S. footprint beyond the existing 1951 defense agreement that established Pituffik Space Base.
Trump said the U.S. will immediately begin developing a large military presence on the island.

DOJ: Young Adults Can Buy Handguns
The Justice Department on Friday declared unconstitutional the federal ban on licensed dealers selling handguns to adults ages 18 to 20, saying it cannot be criminally enforced under the Second Amendment.
The Office of Legal Counsel opinion said federal criminal penalties may not be imposed on dealers who sell handguns to law-abiding young adults, though more than a dozen states have their own age restrictions that they can still enforce.
The DOJ concluded that 18-to-20-year-olds are among those protected by the Second Amendment and found no Founding-era tradition of barring legal adults from purchasing firearms, noting that militia laws at the Founding required service beginning at age 18.

Buffet Steps Down at Berkshire
Warren Buffett, the 96-year-old investor who took control of Berkshire Hathaway in 1965 and transformed it into a trillion-dollar conglomerate, is stepping down as chairman effective immediately.
His son Howard, a board member since 1993, will take over the role while the elder Buffett becomes chairman emeritus and remains on the board.
The move comes nine months after CEO Greg Abel succeeded Buffett in the top operational role. Howard Buffett, 71, has long been cast as the guardian of Berkshire’s unique corporate culture.
