Trump Visits Scotland for Trade Talks and Golf
President Trump is visiting Scotland from July 25-29 for a mix of diplomatic meetings and personal business, including trade talks with EU, U.K., and Scottish leaders and events at his golf resorts in Turnberry and Aberdeen.
Trump will meet with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Aberdeen to discuss a potential trade agreement. He will also hold talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Scottish First Minister John Swinney, with energy and tariffs expected to be on the agenda.
Security measures include road closures, checkpoints, drone bans, and increased surveillance around Trump’s properties and meeting sites. Protests are underway in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Glasgow.
Speaking with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Maxwell reportedly named around 100 people connected to Epstein’s criminal network.
Her lawyer emphasized that the immunity only applies if she tells the truth and denied that any deal was requested in return.
President Trump, asked about a potential pardon while in Scotland, said he “hadn’t thought about it” and distanced himself from the DOJ’s decision.
Southwest Jet Drops to Avoid Collision
A Southwest flight dropped 475 feet Friday, about six minutes after takeoff from Burbank, to avoid a midair collision with a nearby Hawker Hunter Mk. 58 jet.
Passengers described the plunge as terrifying, with many thrown from their seats and screams echoing through the cabin. Two flight attendants were injured, but no passengers were hurt.
The pilots responded to two traffic alerts by climbing and descending as a Hawker Hunter reportedly entered controlled airspace without clearance, though the Southwest crew had visual contact.
The flight continued and landed safely in Las Vegas. Southwest said it’s cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration for a full investigation.
