Shine Light on a Child’s Future

Emmanuel’s world fell apart the day his father was taken to prison. By the time he was seven, he had never stepped foot inside a classroom. His mother wept watching him clap in celebration for his friends on their way to school, knowing she could not afford the uniform, supplies, or fees needed for him to attend.

Hope arrived through the generosity of someone like you who decided to stand in the gap for Emmanuel.  He received his very first backpack, books, and school uniform — and with them, the chance to learn, grow, and dream.

Around the world, children with incarcerated parents face the same heartbreaking reality: poverty and stigma often keep them from an education, making them more likely to fall victim to generational cycles of crime.

With a gift of just $35 to Prison Fellowship International, you can break that cycle by providing a backpack filled with locally sourced school supplies — and open a pathway to education, community support, and a brighter future.

Shine light on a child’s future. Support from generous friends like you has helped thousands of children, like Emmanuel, find dignity, build connections, and experience the love of Christ.

One Backpack Can Change a Life

You can make the difference for a child in need!

For children overseas with an incarcerated parent, school is often out of reach. The cost of uniforms, books, and supplies makes education impossible for families already struggling to survive.

But your gift of $35 to Prison Fellowship International gives a child who might otherwise be left behind the chance to grow and dream by providing a backpack filled with essential school supplies, opening the door to education, friendship, and a brighter future.

Shine light into the life of a child. Give the gift of a brighter future today.

Whatever Happened To...

Whatever happened to Tonya Harding?

Tonya Harding was a top U.S. figure skater in the late 1980s and early 1990s, known for her athletic power. In 1991, she became the first American woman to land a triple axel in competition.

But she’s most remembered for the 1994 scandal when her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, plotted an attack on her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, striking Kerrigan in the knee before the U.S. Championships.

She avoided jail, but pleaded guilty to conspiracy to hinder prosecution, and at age 23 was banned for life from figure skating. She gave boxing a brief try and appeared occasionally on reality TV shows and celebrity specials.

Today, she lives a quieter life in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and son. The 2017 film I, Tonya, starring Margot Robbie, portrayed her with more sympathy as a victim of poverty and abuse, as well as her own bad choices.
