US, China Reach Trade Deal for Rare Earths
President Trump announced the U.S. and China reached a trade deal framework on Wednesday, ensuring full U.S. access to rare earth materials and magnets, critical for technology, while allowing Chinese student visas.

China will limit rare-earth export licenses to U.S. firms for six months, while the U.S. eases restrictions on tech sales like jet engines.
Trump Welcomes Musk’s Apology After Feud
President Trump responded positively to Elon Musk’s late-night apology on Wednesday, after a public feud sparked by Musk’s criticism of the Trump-backed “One Big Beautiful” tax bill.
Musk, who had accused Trump of ties to Jeffrey Epstein and claimed credit for his 2024 election win, later deleted those posts and expressed regret, saying they “went too far.” See Musk’s post here.
Trump’s allies, including Vice President JD Vance, worked to ease tensions, while Trump expressed openness to reconciliation but prioritized national issues.
The dispute had raised concerns about Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX government contracts, which Trump had threatened to revoke.
