Good Morning! On this day in 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark departed from St. Louis, traveling along the Missouri River with a group called the Corps of Northwest Discovery to find a water route connecting the East Coast with the Pacific Ocean.
There’s something timeless about the perfectly awkward family photo: matching outfits, forced smiles, and a rogue pet stealing the spotlight, as featured in our Throwback Thursday item below. If you’ve got a gem buried in your photo album, we’d love to see it. Just reply to this email.

FDA Puts Restrictions on COVID Vaccines
The FDA has announced it will limit future COVID-19 booster shots to Americans over 65 and those with high-risk medical conditions, effectively ending universal annual recommendations and reducing eligibility to roughly one-third of the population.
Officials said routine boosters are no longer justified for healthy individuals unless vaccine makers conduct new placebo-controlled trials—a requirement companies argue is unrealistic due to the rapid evolution of viral variants.
At the same time, the FDA has expanded warning labels on Pfizer and Moderna’s mRNA vaccines to reflect a higher risk of myocarditis and pericarditis—heart inflammation—particularly in males aged 16 to 25. The update follows new agency data and long-term follow-up studies.
Separately, a Senate report led by Sen. Ron Johnson accuses Biden administration health officials of delaying public warnings about these risks in 2021, despite early alerts from Israeli authorities and the Pentagon.
Record Travel Expected for Memorial Day Weekend
AAA projects a record-breaking 45.1 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home for Memorial Day weekend 2025 (May 22–26), surpassing the 2005 record of 44 million.
Road trips dominate, with 39.4 million people planning to drive, up 1 million from 2024, fueled by lower gas prices averaging $3.14 per gallon nationally compared to $3.59 last year.
Air travel is expected to see 3.61 million passengers, a 2% increase from last year, though domestic flights are 2% pricier, averaging $850 for a round-trip ticket.
Cruises, especially to Alaska destinations like Fairbanks and Juneau, are also surging, with AAA noting 2 million Americans are planning travel by ship, train, or bus this weekend. See the full report here.
