Trump Responds to Democratic Wins
President Trump on Wednesday called the off-year election results a setback for Republicans, pointing to the government shutdown and his absence from the ballot as key factors.
Democrats secured several high-profile victories Tuesday in an electoral sweep that held or flipped offices in Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, and New York City.
Democrats Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill won governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey respectively, while Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani defeated former Gov. Andrew Cuomo to become mayor of New York City.
Trump again urged GOP leaders to eliminate the Senate filibuster to move legislation and end the shutdown. He criticized Mamdani’s politics but said he hopes the city succeeds and may work with the new mayor.

Tom Brady Clones Family Dog
Retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady revealed that his family’s new dog, Junie, is a clone of his late pet Lua, created using technology from Dallas-based Colossal Biosciences, a firm in which he is an investor.
Brady used a blood sample collected before Lua’s death to leverage the non-invasive cloning technology, saying it gave his family “a second chance” with their beloved dog. See a picture of the dog here.
The U.S. commercial pet cloning industry is dominated by Viagen Pets & Equine, a subsidiary of Colossal, the biotech company best known for its efforts to revive extinct animals, such as the woolly mammoth and thylacine.
Cloning a cat or dog is an expensive procedure, typically costing $50,000, with horses costing $85,000. The company is using the same technology that created Dolly the Sheep in the 1990s.

American Dream Now Costs Over $5M
New analysis determined that achieving the American Dream now carries a lifetime price tag of over $5 million per household.
Retirement savings top the list at $1.6 million, followed by big-ticket staples such as homeownership, raising two children, and car ownership.
The staggering price tag is pushing key life milestones out of reach for many, fueling record-low birth rates and a rising median age for first-time homebuyers.
The total cost represents the combined lifetime expenses for key milestones that most Americans associate with a comfortable life. See data visualization here.

Turn food into hope for inner-city families
Today, you can make Thanksgiving a time of abundance for a struggling inner-city family—full of food, love, and the beautiful goodness of God.
It’s possible when you partner with the inner-city ministry of Cru® for our 39th annual Box of Love® outreach.
On the outside, it appears to be a simple cardboard box. But inside every Box of Love is:
● More than enough food to feed a family of six: A turkey, ham, or chicken (depending on local cultural preferences), and vegetables, potatoes, juice, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rice, fruit, dessert, and more;
● Includes a gospel booklet;
● The ongoing support of a local volunteer and church community.
A Box of Love brings transformation to homes in inner-city communities. Thousands of children and adults have come to faith, become active in their churches, and begun reaching others in their communities… all because of this simple, powerful gift.
