Question: Who was the only U.S. president to kill a man in a duel?

Answer: Andrew Jackson killed Charles Dickinson in a 1806 duel after Dickinson insulted his wife and accused him of welching on a horse bet. Jackson took a bullet near his heart, stayed on his feet, and fired back to kill his opponent. He carried that bullet in his chest for the rest of his life and went on to become president in 1829.
