Question: Which U.S. state passed a bill designating the Dutch oven as its official cooking pot.

Answer: Utah. The Utah State Legislature approved H.B. 203 in 1997, making the Dutch oven the official State Cooking Pot. The pot honors the heritage of the pioneers who hauled them west by wagon and handcart, and the bill’s sponsor noted more Dutch ovens are sold in Utah than just about anywhere else. Utah is also home to the International Dutch Oven Society and a world championship cookoff in Logan.
