Question: What’s the lowest point in the U.S.?

Answer: Badwater Basin in the heart of Death Valley National Park is the lowest point not only in the United States, but in all of North America. It sits 282 feet below sea level—and is sinking. The Basin is known for its unique salt flats, and in the winter, you can walk there from the parking lot. But in the summer, when temperatures run as high as 120°F, walking is not recommended.
