Question: What is “mad honey”?

Answer: Mad honey is made when bees feed on rhododendron flowers. It’s reddish in color, has a slightly bitter taste, and can cause hallucinations or other toxic effects depending on how much is consumed. It’s also quite rare and expensive, mainly found in high-altitude areas in Turkey and Nepal. It sells for $60-$80 a pound on the black markets of some Asian countries.
