Question: What color do babies see first?
Answer: Red. Even in the womb, babies can tell the difference between light and dark, and as newborns they still see only the high contrast between black and white. Within a few weeks, they can recognize the color red, and green comes soon after that. Within five months or so, infants can see the full range of colors.
