 Government Launches New ‘US Tech Force’
The Trump administration has launched a new federal initiative called the U.S. Tech Force, aimed at hiring about 1,000 engineers and tech specialists on two‑year terms to work on upgrading federal technology.
The projects include artificial intelligence, digital modernization, cybersecurity, data analytics, and related technology projects.
The effort, part of a broader push to modernize outdated federal systems and accelerate AI adoption, will be based largely in Washington, D.C., with salaries expected to range from $130,000 to $195,000.
Tech Force collaborators include more than two dozen major tech companies, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Meta, Amazon Web Services, and others, which have pledged to consider participants for employment after their service.

Son Arrested in Murder of Rob Reiner, Wife
Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife of 36 years, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead with stab wounds Sunday at their Brentwood home by their daughter Romy, who immediately told police to look at a “dangerous” family member.
Their son Nick Reiner, 32, who struggled with drug addiction and homelessness for years, was arrested and charged with murder and is being held without bail after allegedly attacking his parents during a heated argument.
Nick had been seen arguing with his father at comedian Conan O’Brien’s holiday party just 24 hours before the murders and co-wrote the 2015 film Being Charlie about his addiction struggles, which his father directed.
Reiner, who first won fame as an actor on the hit TV show All in the Family, went on to become a major director on popular movies such as The Princess Bride and When Harry Met Sally.

Financial Scams Against Seniors Skyrocket
Older Americans reported losses from financial fraud that were four times higher in 2024 than in 2020, according to a new report from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The report shows that reported fraud losses for adults 60 and older totaled about $2.4 billion lost to scams in 2024—up from about $600 million in 2020.
Investment schemes caused the most damage, with $744 million in reported losses, while large losses exceeding $100,000 drove the surge and now account for 68% of all dollars lost by seniors.
The FTC warns that actual losses could be far higher due to underreporting, and the actual amount of fraud could run as high as $81.5 billion. Experts offer these safe practice tips to help avoid financial fraud.
