Good Morning! On this day in 1944, 76 Allied prisoners escaped a Nazi POW camp located about 100 miles southeast of Berlin by crawling out through a secret tunnel they had laboriously dug over nearly a year. The feat was later immortalized in the iconic World War II movie The Great Escape.
Is this the wildest March weather you’ve ever seen, or are we just getting started? Everyone’s talking about the weather this month, and for good reason. Arizona just shattered the all-time U.S. March heat record while the Midwest dug out from feet of snow, and Hawaii got slammed with hurricane-force winds. Tune in to today’s exclusive Flyover Podcast Extra Story, where host Ayla Brown breaks down what’s happening and what’s coming next. Watch it here.

Trump Delays Strikes on Iran
President Trump on Monday postponed military strikes against Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, hours before his 48-hour ultimatum to reopen the Strait of Hormuz was set to expire.
Trump said special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff held discussions Sunday evening with a “top person” on the Iranian side, producing what he called “major points of agreement,” including that Tehran would never have a nuclear weapon.
Stocks rallied on the news, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumping 631 points on Monday.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied that any talks took place, calling Trump’s announcement an effort to lower energy prices and buy time for military plans.

Crash at LaGuardia Airport Kills 2, Injures Dozens
An Air Canada regional jet collided with a Port Authority fire truck while landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Sunday night, killing both pilots and injuring dozens of passengers and crew.
The Bombardier CRJ-900, arriving from Montreal with 72 passengers and four crew, struck the vehicle on Runway 4 around 11:45 p.m. Here’s a video of the crash.
The impact severed the cockpit and flipped the fire truck onto its side. A flight attendant was ejected while still strapped to her seat and found alive more than 300 feet from the wreckage.
The fire truck had been cleared by air traffic control to cross the runway while responding to a separate United Airlines flight reporting an odor. Audio recordings captured a controller telling the truck to stop at least 10 times before impact. About 20 minutes later, the controller said, “I messed up.”
One of the pilots was identified as Antoine Forest, 30, of Quebec, who began flight training at 16. The NTSB launched an investigation, and the airport reopened one runway Monday afternoon with over 500 flights canceled.

Surf Coach Rescues Drowning Father, Daughter
A California father reunited Saturday with the surf coach who saved his life and his 6-year-old daughter’s after both were caught in a rip current at Oceanside Harbor on March 15.
Lucas Taub was coaching from a jetty during a surfing contest when he spotted the girl being pulled out by waves. Her father, Chris Greene, swam out, but both began struggling.
A bystander video shows Taub kicking off his shoes, diving in fully clothed, and swimming the pair back to shore. Watch it here.
Greene, a father of four who grew up surfing in the area, said he didn’t think he would make it. He called Taub “the voice of an angel.”
