Trump Confirms Emergency Deportation Policy
President-elect Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that he would declare a national emergency to fulfill his campaign promise of mass deportations of illegal migrants living in the U.S.
Trump made the statement on Truth Social, responding “TRUE!!!” to a post from Judicial Watch chief Tom Fitton’s post about using military assets to reverse Biden’s immigration policies.
Advocates for illegal migrants are preparing a legal defense against mass deportations, with an ACLU official stating they are ready to challenge the efforts in court and, if necessary, on the streets.
Alfonso Aguilar, a former U.S. Office of Citizenship official, stated that opponents of the policy were responding to fearmongering, emphasizing that initial deportations would focus on targeted arrests of criminals.

Spirit Airlines Files for Bankruptcy Protection
Spirit Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday after accumulating more than $2.5 billion in losses since 2020 and facing looming debt payments exceeding $1 billion.
The filing follows numerous business challenges, including increased competition from major carriers, declining fare revenues, and a failed $3.8 billion merger attempt with JetBlue that was blocked by federal regulators earlier this year.
The airline assured passengers they can continue to book and fly as normal, use all tickets and loyalty points, and access Saver$ Club perks during the restructuring process, which it expects to complete in the first quarter of 2025.
The bankruptcy filing will result in Spirit being delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.

Farming and food production-based economies have kept grocery costs lower in Midwest states, while California, Washington, and New York face higher prices, reflecting overall higher living costs.
Overall, 31 states spend below the average weekly grocery cost, with Wisconsin having the lowest at $221. See where your state ranks here.

Invest in the company that won over the Dragons
The pioneer in smart-doorbell technology, RING, pitched their business on the hit show Shark Tank at a valuation of just $7 million – the sharks shut them down.
5 years later, the company sold to Amazon for more than $1 Billion, turning the 10% stake initially offered to the sharks from $700K to $100M!
A similar story is brewing up in the Smart Shades segment of the industry. A company called RYSE pitched on the Canadian version of Shark Tank called Dragon’s Den.
The difference? They received two offers and have an addressable market that could be significantly larger than that of RING’s.
The hallmark of all successful smart home products is their ability to launch into retail, and RYSE’s recent deal with Best Buy has put them miles ahead of the competition.
