Good Morning! On this day in 1920, the first commercial radio station in the United States, 8MK—now known as WWJ-AM—began operations in Detroit under the ownership of The Detroit News. Elton Plant, an office boy at the News, became the first U.S. radio announcer, reaching perhaps 30 Detroit homes.
🎙️ In today’s Flyover podcast, host Ayla Brown digs into what’s happening with the all-you-can-eat hotel breakfast. Once a travel staple, the buffet isn’t quite what it used to be. Why the shift? That’s a podcast-exclusive story you won’t see in the email edition. Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Podcasts.
A warm welcome to our new sponsor today: Particle Face Cream for Men. Don’t neglect your skin. Try their products today and see the difference.

Oklahoma Tests New Teachers for Indoctrination
Oklahoma is now requiring new teachers from New York and California to pass a 50-question test screening for woke indoctrination, according to state superintendent Ryan Walters.
Developed with the conservative group PragerU, the quiz covers topics such as biology, American history, and Christianity’s influence on the U.S. See the first five questions at the bottom of this article.
Walters says the move is meant to ensure classrooms reflect “honest, pro-American education in every classroom.”
National teachers’ union officials decried the new test, saying it’s going to be a “huge turn off” to teachers and make it hard for Oklahoma to recruit educators.

Sweden Rolls 113-Year-Old Church to Safety
A 113-year-old wooden church in Kiruna, Sweden, is completing a rare two-day relocation today to escape ground damage caused by decades of iron ore mining.
The 672-ton red timber structure, often called Sweden’s most beautiful pre-1950 building, is being moved 3 miles on massive rolling platforms at just 0.3 miles per hour. Watch a video here.
Engineers kept the church fully intact—altarpiece, organ, and all—secured with scaffolding and steel beams. The move is part of a billion-dollar effort to shift Kiruna’s town center, funded entirely by the state-owned mining company.
Locals and visitors, including Sweden’s king, lined the streets as the slow-motion spectacle was broadcast live nationwide. See photos here.
