Landmark Social Media Trial Begins
A landmark jury trial against Meta, YouTube, and TikTok began Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, marking the first of several high-profile cases in 2026 that could have major implications for regulation of social media companies.
The case centers on a 19-year-old woman who alleges she became addicted to social media in her youth because of certain features like autoplay and infinite scrolling, leading to depression and suicidal thoughts.
TikTok settled with the plaintiff Tuesday for an undisclosed sum, while Snapchat settled last week, leaving Meta and YouTube to face the jury.
The trial has drawn comparisons to lawsuits brought against cigarette companies in the 1990s, with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expected to testify during the six-to-eight-week trial.

First Look: Bud’s Super Bowl Ad
Budweiser unveiled its Super Bowl LX commercial Tuesday featuring a Clydesdale horse and a bird in an endearing friendship story marking the beer company’s 150th anniversary and America’s 250th birthday.
The 60-second spot opens with a baby Clydesdale discovering a newly hatched bird and shows their relationship developing over time as the horse grows and the bird is revealed in its full majesty. Watch the ad here.
The commercial ends with two farmers watching the scene, one asking “You crying?” and the other responding “Sun’s in my eyes.”
Budweiser’s marketing team said the ad aims to leave fans “awestruck and proud” as they celebrate shared milestone moments during Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8.

Less Than Four Days Left to Invest in The Flyover
In four days, our investment window will be closed.
Not next month. Not “sometime soon.” Four days.
So instead of telling you why we think you should invest in The Flyover, we’ll do something different.
Here are the Top 4 Reasons to Invest—starting with one we didn’t write ourselves.
1. ChatGPT Picked This Reason (Seriously)
When we asked ChatGPT (AI) why someone should invest in The Flyover, here is what it said.
It didn’t talk about hype or buzz. It pointed to something rare:
A fast-growing, profitable, reader-first media company—built outside legacy media, without billionaire-corporate backing, and owned by its audience.
That’s not marketing fluff. That’s an objective read of our business.
2. A New Media Startup—But Actually Different
Most “new media” companies:
- Lose money
- Chase clicks
- Depend on venture capital
- Answer to advertisers first
The Flyover is profitable, growing, and reader-owned. We focus on trust, clarity, and consistency, not outrage or algorithms.
This combination is rare. And it’s working.
3. Join a Movement to Fix What’s Broken
Americans don’t trust the news and for good reason.
Legacy media has:
- Chosen narratives over facts
- Divided audiences for attention
- Optimized for outrage instead of understanding
The Flyover exists to change that. We deliver fact-first, unbiased news to millions of readers who want information, not indoctrination.
This isn’t just an investment. It’s a vote for a better media model.
4. There’s Only Room for Less Than 400 Final Investors
This part is simple math.
We’re about 88% full. That leaves fewer than 400 spots before the round closes. Permanently.
When it’s full, it’s full. No extensions. No waitlist guarantees.
If you’ve been thinking, watching, or meaning to “circle back”—now is the moment.
✈️ Final Boarding Call
Four days left. Fewer than 400 spots. A profitable, growing media company changing how Americans consume news.
Invest in The Flyover before the window closes.
