FBI Warns of Terror Threats Against Americans
FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Congress Tuesday that the threat of a terror attack against Americans has risen to a “whole other level” due to the Mideast war.
Wray said multiple foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against Americans and the West. He compared the threat level to that presented by ISIS years ago.
Meanwhile, a Senate hearing on military aid for Israel and Ukraine was disrupted by shouting protestors, some with red-stained hands, calling for a ceasefire in the Mideast as police dragged them out one by one.
Supreme Court Weighs Social Media Rights
The Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday on two cases weighing whether public officials can block their critics on social media. Both involve local government officials, but President Trump’s blocking of critics on Twitter looms over the case.
The cases turn on the issue of whether the posts of public officials constitute part of their governmental function. It’s often ambiguous, and the Court’s decision will define where the lines will be drawn.
The plaintiffs in the two cases are the reverse of each other. In one, school board trustees are appealing a decision in favor of parents they blocked. In the other, a Michigan man is appealing a decision allowing a city official to block him on Facebook.
First ‘Florida Man Games’ Ready to Go Low
The world’s first “Florida Man Games” is looking for teams to compete in five trashy sports events capturing the spirit of the mythical “Florida Man” always caught by police doing something outrageous.
The games are set to take place Feb. 24 in St. Augustine, and tickets range from $45 to $145. If, by some odd life choice, you’d like to join in, you’ll need a team of five participants. You can sign up here.
