➤ Longtime Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) will not seek re-election next year, marking an end to his 34-year run representing Manhattan in Congress. Nadler, 78, cited the need for a “generational change.” (More)

President Trump said his administration would file an appeal today seeking an immediate hearing from the Supreme Court in hopes of overturning a lower court’s ruling that deemed most of his tariffs illegal. (See Details)

Congress on Tuesday released 33,000 files from its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, though most have been released publicly before. Democrats say only a small percentage contain new details. (More)

➤ At a press conference on Tuesday, President Trump said he would call for federal law enforcement intervention in Chicago and Baltimore. “We’re going in,” he said, but added, “I didn’t say when.” (More)
