Article Icon 1Ranch Dog Helps Rescue Missing Toddler

A missing 2-year-old boy who wandered seven miles through the rugged Arizona wilderness was found safe, thanks in part to a local ranch dog named Buford.

The toddler disappeared from his home wearing just a tank top and pajama pants, prompting a massive overnight search involving dozens of rescuers and a helicopter.

The boy was discovered 16 hours later by rancher Scottie Dunton, who noticed his loyal dog Buford, an Anatolian Pyrenees bred for guarding livestock, escorting a small blond child alongside a fence on his property.

Buford had stayed with the child for at least a mile, guiding him across terrain filled with mountain lions and canyons. “He loves kids,” Dunton said. “I imagine he wouldn’t leave him once he’d found him.”

A Florida baby diagnosed with a rare and fatal brain disorder is defying medical odds thanks to an anonymous $47,000 donation.

Millie Longhenry was born with a severe congenital condition and sent home on hospice care, but her parents turned to alternative neurological treatments that showed promise.

When they could no longer afford treatment, a former patient of her neurologist stepped in to pay the full bill, giving Millie a second shot at life.
