Question: What inspired the classic M&M’s slogan “Melts in your mouth, not in your hand”?

Answer: The slogan traces back to World War II, when the U.S. military needed chocolate that wouldn’t melt in soldiers’ hands. Mars developed a candy-coated shell to protect the chocolate from damage during transport and in warmer climates. Originally made just for troops, M&Ms became so popular that they hit store shelves in 1947—backed by a slogan that’s stuck ever since.
