Chinese, Russian Warships Test Alaska Coast
Four U.S. Navy destroyers were sent to the Aleutian Islands following an incursion by 11 Chinese and Russian warships conducting a joint naval operation off the coast of Alaska.
Information about the event is still being declassified, but Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan called it “unprecedented,” and a former Navy captain described it as “highly provocative.”
The U.S. ships, along with a P-8 Poseidon aircraft, shadowed the Chinese and Russian ships away from the Alaskan coast, according to the Wall Street Journal. The paper said the ships never technically entered U.S. waters. | NYC Riot Sparked by Playstation Giveaway
New York City police arrested Kai Cenat, a famous videogame influencer, and 65 other people for inciting a riot in Union Square on Saturday after promising a PlayStation giveaway.
The giveaway offer attracted thousands of people who turned on the police, throwing garbage, chairs, and bottles. The police responded by bringing out an estimated 1,000 officers.
Mayor Eric Adams later blamed “outside agitators,” saying people don’t bring smoke bombs and M-80s to get a free PlayStation. The influencer, Cenat, 21, has 13 million followers nationally. | Sweden Sends U.S. Home From World Cup
The U.S. Women’s soccer team lost to Sweden by a “millimeter” Sunday, knocking the U.S. out of the World Cup in the round of 16, its earliest exit in tournament history.
The game came down to a nail-biting penalty shootout in overtime. The U.S. missed three different chances to win, including the final career shot of controversial veteran Megan Rapinoe, who missed with a kick that flew over the goal entirely. (See Video)
In the end, Sweden won with a kick that just barely crossed the goal, so close that it required a review by the referees. The photo review showed the score was good by the tiniest of margins.

The Healthy Alternative to Sugary Sports Drinks
It’s no secret that a large portion of the country is experiencing high summer temperatures. Now more than ever, it’s important to stay hydrated.
It’s easy to forget that our sweat isn’t just water. But why is it that we drink only water after a long run on a hot day? Our sweat consists of water and salt, so next time you’re reaching for that glass of water … remember to replenish those electrolytes!
After years of mixing his own electrolyte blends and frustration with a lack of healthy options on the market, LMNT Co-Founder and former Navy SEAL Robb Wolf used his experience as a biochemist to create his own product.
LMNT is your chance for a clean electrolyte boost after a hot summer day or intense workout. It tastes great, making it the perfect cocktail mixer or hangover cure.
