Poll Shows Haley With Biggest Lead Over Biden
A new CNN poll showed only one Republican candidate solidly beating President Biden past the margin of error in a head-to-head matchup: Nikki Haley, with 49% support compared to Biden’s 43%.
The poll showed Biden in a statistical tie with the other GOP contenders, though Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, and Chris Christie all topped Biden by a point or two.
The poll had other bad news for Biden, whose overall approval rating is down to 39% just a year ahead of the election. It was 45% in the same poll at the beginning of the year. | Mayor: Migrant Influx ‘Will Destroy New York’
New York City Mayor Eric Adams sounded his most apocalyptic note on immigration yet, telling city officials that the migrant crisis “will destroy New York.” (See Video)
The next day, schools in Long Island City had to turn away migrant kids as 21,000 children tried to jam into already packed classrooms. The children were excited, but frustrated teachers lashed out at school officials for a lack of planning.
Adams has openly criticized other Democrats, including NY Gov. Kathy Hochul and President Biden, for not stepping up. In a recent Gallup Poll, only 31% of Americans approved of Biden’s immigration policy. | It’s Back! NFL Kicks Off Its 2023 Season
