Good Morning! On this day in 1884, the Washington Monument was completed when workers placed a nine-inch aluminum pyramid inscribed with “Laus Deo,” which eans “praise be to God,” atop a white marble tower.
Offbeat football news: Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow, similar to ex-NFL star Doug Flutie, won a Heisman Trophy and now owns a Batmobile. Flutie has a 1966 version, while Burrow spent $3 million on a newer model featured below.

Details Emerge on NYC Shooting Suspect
Authorities continue to collect evidence as new details and images emerged on the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson two days ago. You can see newly released photos here.
At the scene, authorities found a cell phone and shell casings marked with the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose,” resembling the phrase “delay, deny, defend” used to describe how insurers deny services and payments. It’s also the title of a 2010 book critical of the industry.
The gunman is still at large, but surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspect at a New York City hostel, a coffee shop, and exiting a subway station near the site of the shooting. You can see a map of the suspect’s movements here.

Bitcoin Breaks $100,000 Wall
The price of Bitcoin broke through the $100,000 barrier for the first time Wednesday night, reaching $103,713 before falling back to the mid-$90,000 range on Thursday.
Bitcoin’s recent price run followed Donald Trump’s victory at the polls, climbing over $30,000 since Election Day.
Wednesday’s record high arrived after President-elect Trump announced his choice of cryptocurrency advocate Paul Atkins to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission.
“Clearly, there is anticipation that the new administration is going to be somewhat more favorable to crypto than the old administration was,” said S&P Global digital assets expert Andrew O’Neill.
