Trump Speech Details Shooting
Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president for the third time Thursday night in a rally-style speech that called for unity across America and confidently predicted victory in the fall.
In Trump’s first speaking appearance since he was shot last weekend, he recounted nearly being killed in compelling detail to a hushed crowd. On stage with him was the volunteer fire uniform and helmet of Corey Comperatore, who died shielding his family from the shooter.
The 90-minute speech pivoted halfway through to include a recitation of issues where the current “incompetent” administration had failed, and how Trump planned to address those, including strictly tightening the border, ending the federal push for electric cars, and immediately drilling for oil and gas.
Trump’s speech was the main event of a star-studded evening. Wrestler Hulk Hogan spoke, rocker Kid Rock performed, and country singer Lee Greenwood led up to Trump’s introduction with his hit, “God Bless the USA.”
Biden Considers Ending Campaign
After weeks of resisting calls from congressional Democrats to step down, President Biden now seems open to the idea of ending his re-election bid, according to a senior Democratic adviser.
Biden’s apparent change of heart coincides with reports that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke directly to the President and told him he couldn’t win the election.
Other prominent Democrats, including Representatives Adam Schiff and Hakeem Jeffries, as well as Senator Chuck Schumer, have expressed concerns about Biden’s position on the ticket. Recent polls indicate that the President’s candidacy could jeopardize the party’s control of Congress.
Further complicating Biden’s position are leaked chats from DNC delegates worried that a second Biden term is an impossible sell to voters.
A former accountant, Newhart rose to fame as a popular standup comic in the 1950s and 60s. His comedy album The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart, won the Grammy Award as Album of the Year at the 1961 Grammys—becoming the first comedy album to win that honor.
Newhart transitioned into television and headlined two successful sitcoms, The Bob Newhart Show (1972-1978) and Newhart (1982-1990). Later appearances in the movie Elf and sitcom The Big Bang Theory would introduce Newhart to a new generation of fans.
Among Newhart’s numerous recognitions and achievements are three Grammys, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and the 2002 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Aging starts earlier than you think and it begins with your body’s building blocks: your cells. Starting in your 30s, the mitochondria, responsible for 90% of your body’s energy, take on damage with time and your cells slowly lose the ability to repair it. This decline wears down our physical strength and endurance, making everyday activities and hobbies harder to enjoy.
But, recent discoveries have revealed a way to restore this process and support healthy aging. Mitopure® is clinically shown to trigger a cellular recycling pathway to give our energy generators new power. When taken daily, Mitopure replaces aging mitochondria and helps to rebuild new ones, increasing cellular energy. The results? Studies found participants saw muscle strength and endurance increase without any changes to exercise.
