Good morning! Today is the anniversary of the opening battle of the Civil War, fought in 1861 near Manassas, Va., but often called the Battle of Bull Run. The Confederates won, but the lesson for both armies was how bloody a long war would be.
In today’s edition, we’re discussing the $2 billion Americana theme park coming to Oklahoma, a Burger King worker arrested for serving french fries dug from the trash, and the fastest wiener dog in the West.

Polls Show Voters Not Buying ‘Bidenomics’
Only 37% of Americans approve of President Biden’s handling of the economy, despite months of campaigning on “Bidenomics,” as the White House calls it. That’s up only 3 points from two months ago.
The CNBC All-American Economic Survey shows that only 20 percent of Americans think the economy is good or excellent.
The survey also asked about expectations for the coming year, and 70 percent said they think the economy will stay the same or get worse. | $2 Billion Theme Park Planned For Route 66
Oklahoma officials announced a $2 billion plan to partner with developers to build a Disney World-sized “American Heartland Theme Park and Resort” on Route 66 near Vinita, OK, about 170 miles from Oklahoma City.
The developers are affiliated with Branson, Missouri-based Mansion Entertainment Group and plan to build the project in phases. The first to open will be a large RV park with cabins in Spring 2025. (See Video of Planned Development)
The ultimate goal is a 125-acre celebration of Midwest Americana, including rides, live shows, family attractions, and a “top-tier” 300-room hotel and water park. | ‘Barbie,’ ‘Oppenheimer’ Set for Big Weekend
The two most anticipated movies of the summer open tonight, going head to head: the pink fantasy world of Barbie vs. the darkness of the first atomic bomb test.
“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” could have a combined opening of over $200 million, a bonanza for theater owners starved for blockbusters this summer. Not surprisingly, “Barbie” is expected to be the bigger hit, earning double her darker competition.
The two films aren’t actually seen as direct competitors. Movie fans filled social media with their plans for seeing the two films as a double feature on the same day: the more serious “Oppenheimer” first, then “Barbie” for dessert.
