➤ Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine introduced a resolution Monday to block any U.S. military action against Iran without congressional approval, citing fears that the escalating Israel-Iran conflict could pull America into another Middle East war. (See Details)

Half of Americans said they view Iran as an enemy to the U.S. in a new poll from The Economist/YouGov. Among other responses, 25% said the Middle Eastern nation was “unfriendly,” 4% said it was “friendly,” and 1% called it an “ally.” (See Poll)

U.S. Capitol Police told senators Tuesday that threats against members of Congress surged to nearly 9,500 last year—the highest since 2021—following the targeted killing of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband over the weekend. (More)

Former Sen. Bob Menendez, 71, reported to a Pennsylvania prison Tuesday to begin serving an 11-year sentence for bribery. The New Jersey Democrat was convicted of accepting cash, gold bars, and other gifts in exchange for political favors. (See Details)
