Good Morning! On this day in 1884, the cornerstone of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States, was laid in a masonic ceremony on Bedloe’s Island (now Liberty Island) in New York Harbor.
You might say that the U.S. is now returning the Statue of Liberty favor with plans to include a Tom Cruise skydiving stunt in the Paris Olympics closing ceremony. De rien, Paris!

U.S. Urges Americans to Leave Lebanon
The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon is encouraging Americans to leave on “any ticket available” as concerns over an Israel-Hezbollah open war continue to mount, along with other escalations in the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israel is already in a “multi-front war” with Iran and its proxies, as the U.S. and allies prepare to defend Israel.
On Sunday, an Israeli airstrike reportedly killed dozens in Gaza, while a Palestinian militant killed two Israelis in a knife attack, stoking more fears of a regional war.
$4 Billion Settlement for Maui Fire Victims
A $4 billion settlement has been reached to resolve lawsuits stemming from the deadly Maui wildfires of August 2023, which killed over 100 people and caused an estimated $5 billion in damages.
The agreement involves seven defendants, including the state of Hawaii and Hawaiian Electric, and aims to settle approximately 450 lawsuits filed by homeowners and businesses.
Governor Josh Green announced the deal, calling it a “historic settlement” that will help people heal without prolonged litigation.
Currently, Maui is balancing tourism needs with community healing, urging visitors to support local businesses and volunteer while respecting the island’s ongoing recovery process.
Six other destinations range from the Pacific Northwest to the Gulf Coast—all either very close to or far below the national median home price of $442,479.

After years of mixing his own electrolyte blends and frustration with healthy options on the market, LMNT Co-Founder and former Navy SEAL Robb Wolf used his experience as a biochemist to create his own product.
