Hamas Bombs Aid Crossing, Ends Negotiation
Hamas killed three Israeli soldiers Sunday in an attack on a crossing into Gaza used by trucks delivering humanitarian aid. The crossing is now shut down.
At the same time, Hamas announced it was ending ceasefire negotiations in Cairo after Israel rejected its demands to end the war. Israeli officials warned of a substantial military operation in the “very near future” into Rafah, Hamas’ last major stronghold in Gaza.
Israel also raided a Jerusalem hotel room used by Al Jazeera after the government decided to shut down the Qatari-owned media outlet’s local operations in Israel. The Israelis said the network would remain closed until the war in Gaza ended.
Heavy Rains Flood Houston, East Texas
Hundreds of people were rescued from floodwaters in Houston as heavy rain swamped a wide region from the city to rural East Texas. Photos and video are here.
Game wardens rode airboats through waist-high water to save people and pets, while in Houston crews were plucking people off the rooftops of flooded homes. About 11 million people in Texas and Oklahoma are under flood warnings this weekend.
Between 12 to 20 inches of rain have fallen in the area in the past week, forcing evacuations. One Kingwood resident said water from the San Jacinto River had risen from a foot high in his backyard on Friday to four feet high on Saturday.

Since the 1940s, we have been told to drink 8 glasses of water a day, but hydrating only with plain water can dilute your electrolyte levels – which can lead to headaches, low energy, brain fog and more.
LMNT is on a mission to restore health through hydration and has created a formula perfectly suited for folks intermittent fasting or following a low-cab, whole food diet.
