Happy Saturday! On this date in 1997, 21-year-old Tiger Woods won the Masters Tournament for the first time by a record 12 strokes in Augusta, Georgia. It made him the youngest golfer to win the event.

U.S. Expects Iranian Strike on Israel

U.S. and Israeli officials are preparing for the possibility of a direct attack on Israeli soil by Iran in retaliation for an April 1 strike in Syria that left seven Iranian military officers dead.

The U.S. has positioned warships in the region to protect Israeli and American forces from an Iranian attack believed to be imminent. Officials believe Iran has more than 100 drones and dozens of missiles aimed at military targets.

Messages sent to the Biden administration through Iranian proxies indicated U.S. forces would be attacked if the U.S. got involved in fighting between Israel and Iran.

A travel warning has been issued for Israel by the U.S. government, as well as a message from President Biden to Tehran: “Don’t.”

Man Rams Semi Into Texas DPS Office

A Texas man allegedly stole a semi-truck and intentionally drove it into a Department of Public Safety office in Brenham, Texas, on Friday, killing one person and injuring 13 others.

Authorities say Clenard Parker of Chappell Hill, TX visited the Brenham Public Safety office Thursday to renew his commercial driver’s license but was denied. He returned Friday in a stolen semi-truck and crashed it into the office’s entrance.

After crashing into the building the first time, Parker reportedly backed up the truck with the intention of smashing the building again before being detained.

Texas Rangers have opened an investigation, and Parker is believed to be facing multiple felony charges.

Hospital Stops Transplant Programs

A Texas surgeon overseeing liver and kidney transplant programs at a Houston hospital allegedly manipulated a government database and deprived patients of an opportunity for lifesaving care.

Dr. J. Steve Bynon Jr., a doctor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, is described by hospital officials as a talented and caring “pioneer in abdominal organ transplantation.” They also claim Bynon admitted to altering the records.

The hospital discovered irregularities with donor matching data for liver transplants in early April and halted the program. The kidney transplant program was also paused because they share the same leadership.

Numerous attempts have been made to speak to Bynon by phone, but he referred questions to the hospital and did not confirm he had admitted to altering records.
