US, Iran Agree on Peace Deal Text
The U.S. and Iran have reached a final peace deal text, the strongest signal yet that the war may be ending, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced Friday.
A senior Trump administration official said the agreement could be signed within days, though Iran’s foreign ministry cautioned that Tehran hasn’t reached “a final conclusion.”
U.S. officials pushed back on information that has been shared publicly by Iran’s media about the contents of the forthcoming deal. President Trump wrote in an angry Truth Social post Friday morning that the public reporting about the deal has “NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing.”
Unconfirmed reports say the memorandum would extend the ceasefire for 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and tie sanctions relief to Iranian compliance. Hours earlier, U.S. forces reportedly shot down two Iranian drones targeting commercial ships in the strait.

Musk, who owns about 42% of SpaceX and controls roughly 85% of its voting power, saw his net worth top an estimated $1.1 trillion. Around 4,400 current and former employees also stand to become millionaires.

U.S. Soccer Team Scores Opening World Cup Win
The U.S. Men’s Soccer Team opened its first World Cup game with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay in front of a roaring American crowd in Los Angeles.
The Americans struck first in the seventh minute when a Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie move forced Paraguay’s Damián Bobadilla to turn the ball into his own net. American forward Folarin Balogun then took over, scoring twice as the U.S. built a 3-0 first-half lead.
Balogun completed his brace in first-half stoppage time, the first World Cup brace by a U.S. player since the inaugural tournament in 1930.
The U.S. faces Australia next on June 19 in Seattle.
