Question: Who was the first president to appear on TV?

Answer: Franklin Roosevelt. On this day in 1939, FDR gave a welcoming speech at the New York’s World’s Fair that was broadcast by RCA, NBC’s parent company, in the first-ever TV transmission available to the public. Estimates were that there were no more 100-200 TV sets in use in New York City at the time.
